Where do the donations go?
All event proceeds directly benefit Junior Achievement of Southeast Texas and the students we serve.

What all is included with my registration?
Your registration includes a race packet, containg your t-shirt and bib, entry into the 5K Run / Walk or Kids' 1K, pre-race Kolache Factory kolaches, and food and beverages at the post-race festival.

Is there an age requirement to participate?
There is not an age requirement for the 5K Run/Walk. All participants in the Kids' 1K and 100 Yard Dash must be under 12 years old. Children under 2 are not required to register.

What activities and attractions are part of the post-race festival?
The Kids' Zone will include a giant mural for coloring, face painting, balloon artist, bean bag toss, and an activity with the Houston Dynamo. Adults can enjoy music by DJ Johnny Bravo and beer from Eureka Heights Brewing Company. All paid guests are welcome to visit the Food Corral for your choice of Burgers from the Burger Joint, Waffles from The Waffle Bus, Tacos from El Topo, Smoothies from Smoothie Submarine and Popsicles from Steel City Pops.

Do I need to be a good runner to participate?
No! Runners of all skill levels are welcome. 

Is the 5K timed?
The Race is clock timed, not chip timed.

What do I do with my stuff?
We recommend only bringing what you can carry while you run, but there will be a bag check at registration.

When and where can I get my race packet?
There are three dates and locations to get your packet prior to the Race. You may pick up packets for friends and family. You are not required to wear the t-shirt provided in your race packet.

  • Wednesday, February 6th from 4pm-6:30pm at Junior Achievement of Southeast Texas
  • Saturday, February 9th at the Race registration station

How do I edit my personal Race page?
Please email us at events@jahouston.org and we will be happy to help make any required changes.

I made a donation but my friend doesn't see it on their fundraising page.
You may have made a donation to the overall event or to a team. Just send us a note at events@jahouston.org and we can sort it out for you.

Can I bring my dog?
Yes, the event is dog-friendly. Your dog(s) must remain on leash at all times and be vaccinated per City of Houston requirements. You will be required to sign a pet waiver and anyone running / walking with a dog must start at the back of the Race.

How do I volunteer?

Can I get a refund?
In the unlikely event that the RBC Race for the Kids Houston is cancelled due to weather conditions or you are unable to participate after registering, your registration fee will be converted into a donation and you will receive a tax receipt for the amount paid.

What happens if it rains?
In the event that there are unsafe weather conditions, Junior Achievement will notify runners of a delay or cancellation via email and the Facebook event.
