October 15th is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day and this year I’m honored to be working with the Chicago chapter of the Star Legacy Foundation on their inaugural event: Remember Us Still - A Walk Benefitting The Star Legacy Foundation. The Star Legacy Foundation is dedicated to reducing pregnancy loss and neonatal death and improving care for families who experience such tragedies. I will be participating in this walk to help raise money and awareness for a wonderful cause.

This is a cause that is very near and dear to my families heart. On January 27th, 2021 my sweet angel Violet Serena Kessler was born sleeping. I was just 4 short weeks away from her due date when the world came crashing down and our lives were forever changed. She died from a blood clot in her umbilical cord which is something we never saw coming, making the hardest part about all of this is that there were no signs and nothing I could have done differently to save her. My heart breaks every day for my daughter who didn’t get a chance to live.

There were some dark moments where I didn’t think I was going to be able to go on but it was foundations like the Star legacy that provided me with the resources I needed to help me process and work through my grief. I will continue to do my part to raise awareness to this issue and keep the memory of my daughter Violet alive
