Thank you for visiting this fundraising page. My family and I have known the hardship of crushing medical debt. We were fortunate in that we had good paying jobs and were able to deal with it, but there are so many in our country that do not have that luxury and can have their financial futures decimated simply because they got sick. This should not happen in this country that we call home. Fortunately, organizations like RIP Medical Debt exist, and can pay off these debts for pennies on the dollar. When I found out that every dollar donated can pay off $100 in medical debt, I created Team Ubuntu.
Ubuntu (Zulu pronunciation: [ùɓúntʼù]) is a Nguni Bantu term meaning "humanity." It is often translated as "I am because we are," or "humanity towards others," but is often used in a more philosophical sense to mean "the belief in a universal bond of sharing that connects all humanity."
I truly believe that we are all connected. I truly believe that, if we work together, we can repair the broken parts of our world and, in turn, better the lives of everyone - so I donated $20, and paid off $2,000 of someone's medical debt. And now I'm asking you to join me.
Please consider joining Team Ubuntu - a donation, any donation, goes a long way. We can do So. Much. Please help me help those in need today. Thanks. K
