Dear Friends,

Thank you again for your generous support last summer as I trained for Ride the Rockies as part of Team Samaritan House. As many of you know, I was unable to ride last summer due to my Dad’s passing. I’ve committed to ride RTR this coming June to honor all of your generous pledges from last year.

This year’s ride will be in southwestern Colorado going up, down and around the San Juan Mountains. We start in Alamosa and finish in Salida – rolling through Pagosa Springs, Durango, Montrose and Gunnison along the way. 447 miles and 32k feet of elevation gain over 7 days!

I will be riding as part of Team Samaritan house – a group of now 40+ riders committed to raising $1,500 each for our (4) homeless shelters in Northern Colorado, including Samaritan House in downtown Denver. Below are a few numbers from 2016 to quickly show the impact your donations have on those in need in Northern Colorado: 

• Over 1.25 million nights of shelter were provided by our four shelter sites, emergency overflow sites and our Archdiocesan Housing units. 
• 754,575 meals were served to the homeless and poor through Catholic Charities 
• In 2016 we worked closely with the City of Denver to identify a location and start construction on a new Women’s only shelter in downtown Denver. This facility will provide 150 beds to homeless women in Denver. Of the 5,000 plus homeless in Metro Denver, 38% are now women – including single mothers and teens.

Thank you again for your support of Catholic Charities and Team Samaritan House. Each dollar raised through your generosity helps change the lives of individuals and families in Colorado who are experiencing homelessness.
