One of the first places our family volunteered at was the Ronald McDonald House. We loved that our kids were able to come and cook food and serve it to the families staying there. We always enjoyed getting to know the families and talking with them and learning about their stories. Some of our other favorite memories of serving together as a family is when we would cook and feed the families at the Family room at Primary Children’s hospital. We would invite other friends and family to come with us and it was always such a special time helping to feed these families going through such hard times. I loved that my kids could be involved and meet the children and share a warm meal and smile with them. We had one experience where some of our neighbors were in the family room when we were serving lunch one day and they heard the news that the grand baby they were visiting was going to be passing away very soon (it was within the hour) and to be able to hold her and hug her was a gentle reminder that life is so precious. We love all that the RMH does for these sweet families and just hope that it helps them feel loved, warm, and fed as they go through these devastating times. We would love you to help support!!
