KATIE SYMANSKY

Katie serves as Program Director at Hostage US, where she oversees the delivery of support services for hostages, wrongful detainees, and their families. Drawing on extensive humanitarian experience, she previously worked with Médecins Sans Frontières across Africa and Southeast Asia, supporting medical, water, sanitation, and refugee assistance programs in South Sudan, Tanzania, and Myanmar. Earlier in her career, she led fundraising and community outreach initiatives for nonprofit organizations in New Mexico and began her NGO work in Fiji, helping secure support for children with vision and hearing impairments.

Katie holds an MBA from the University of Wisconsin focused on nonprofit strategic management and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of New Mexico, bringing a unique combination of humanitarian, nonprofit leadership, and program management expertise to her work serving vulnerable populations.
