Spotlight: Billy Mullins

Veteran Billy Mullins of Richmond, VA served in the US Army from November 1970 to February 1976 and reached the rank of Sergeant. He will be joining COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs on the 2nd Annual "RIPRIDE4Vets" this June, 2019.  He is doing the ride with Mikel to show his support for disabled veterans and their families that have incurred healthcare debt that they should not be burden with.  Join Mike and Billy anywhere along the routes to share some road time with them and please have your friends and businesses donate to or become sponosrs of this historic 14-day, 7,727 mile ride to support our veterans.

Billy is also starting a 501c3 non-profit organization in Virginia to put disabled veterans in housing that meets their particular needs. Our veterans' disabilities are not one size fits all. If you're interested in learning more about who we are and what we are doing, please stay tuned for the launch of Billy's website. It is due to go live in a couple of weeks and will be announced on Rallypoint.

RIP Ride for Vets Overview

My name is Col. (retired) Mikel Burroughs and I'm taking on a 14-day, 7,727 mile continential motorcycle ride (2nd Annual - RIPRIDE4 Vets)  from Denver, Colorado to through Wyoming, Montana, Utah, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, back into California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas and back to Denver, CO to abolish medical debt for our nation's service men and women.

Each year, veterans are left on the hook for billions of dollars of medical debt, particularly for emergency care outside of the VA system.

RIP Medical Debt can purchase and abolish medical debt specifically for veterans in a random way. Each dollar donated abolishes roughly $100 of medical debt!

There are a couple of ways you can help me take this on!

1. You can donate right here, right now. All funds contributed through this campaign site are restricted to abolishing veteran debt nationwide.

2. Register as a sponsor for the RIPRIDE4Vets and abolish debt as co-sponsor along with COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs ride!  Click and register today as a Broze, Silver, Platinum, or Gold sponsor and help Mikel abolish millions of veterans debt here in 2019.

3. Register for your own sub-campaign and ride with me! Click on the register link below and get your own campaign page to share with your network. We can even meet up on the road and ride together for a while. Can't ride with me? No problem, you can still raise money for Vet Debt by registering here and sharing the campaign with your contacts, friends, and family.

My goal is to raise over $50,000. If I reach that goal, together we will be able to wipe out $5 million in medical debt for veterans. That's an excellent return-on-investment.

(Important: RIP Medical Debt cannot abolish debt by individual request. We all have loved ones we'd like to abolish debt for, but RIP cannot operate that way. They purchase large portfolios of debt and abolish it at once without control over the individuals whose names show up in the available portfolio – other than qualifying them as members or former members of the U.S. Armed Forces.)

Disclaimer: In the event that a campaign is unable to meet RIP Medical Debt's local campaign contribution goal, all funds will be designated to wherever they are needed most.

Day 3 - RIPRIDE4Vets 2nd Annual Ride is in the books!

We're back on track at 11:22 PM in Spokane, WA. Eventful and jammed packed day.

Started out at Bear Tooth Harley-Davidson where I dropped $441.00 for a new rear tire that took 2 hours to install (as you can see by the picture (s) of me with the Big Bear out front of the dealership as boredom was setting in while we waited.

Finally got on the Road at 12:00 PM Noon and we drove 581 miles directly to J&T Bunker Bar and Grill to meet Victory for Veteran Foundation Board Member Cindy Crow and her significant other Larry, along with CAPT Kevin Ball, PE, and SGT Billy Mullins (Main Photo).

As you can see SGT Billy Mullins and I were ready to go early this morning (2nd Picture) but had to get the tire repaired. We're back on schedule now and Salem, OR with a stop in Lacey, WA is next on the agenda. We have about 4 hrs and 291 miles to cover to have lunch with SGT Jennifer Rixe, then head straight south to Salem, OR to meet SPC Douglas Bolton and his wife Charlotte and CPL Dave Hoover and his wife Sherry. That will be 6 hours, 425 miles - another long day.

Let's keep sharing the Facebook page:  https://www.facebook.com/RIPRIDE4Vets2/ and the Donation Site:  https://secure.qgiv.com/event/rrfv2/

We've still got a lot of veteran debt to abolish everyone. Thanks to all the current donors.
