So, I am back at it again!
After a year of "sabbatical" from Ride the Rockies, I have rejoined the Samaritan House Team for my 4th year! Last year, I took the year off to prepare our home to sell. We sold our home to a wonderful family and will be moving in early May!
So, I am back at it again! This year is the 30th year anniversary of Ride the Rockies, and I am honored to ride and fundraise with a wonderful team for an incredible cause: serving the homeless families at Samaritan House.
Ride the Rockies will begin in Grand Junction on June 13 and will conclude in Westcliffe on June 20, riding 465 miles. The race will be demanding and – no doubt – there will be some sore muscles, sweat, dirt and hopefully, very few tears. My motivation for this ride is knowing the difference it will make to the homeless at Samaritan House. Each dollar we raise truly changes the lives of the individuals and families who call this shelter “home.”
As you may know, Samaritan House serves adults, families with children, veterans, persons suffering from physical and/or developmental disabilities, and adults in need of short-term care. It offers a continuum of services from meeting the immediate needs of safe shelter, food and clothing to long-term housing, counseling, employment assistance, and life-skills classes to attain self-sufficiency. Samaritan House provides hope for real change and opportunity for a brighter future for the homeless it serves.
My desire is to ride for this great cause and help as many homeless individuals and families as possible. With your generosity we can make a real difference in the lives of many in need.
