Travis and I are running the Disney 5K in support of Cannonball Kids’ Cancer because this cause has become deeply personal to us. A few years ago, his mom, Ann Smith, faced her second battle with breast cancer. Through it all, she was surrounded by a strong support system—family, guidance, and access to the care she needed. I had the privilege of helping her navigate that journey, from finding the right doctor to asking the tough questions and being there for every appointment. Watching everything her body endured was eye-opening. It made us realize just how much strength and support it takes to fight cancer—and how not everyone has that same advantage. That’s what brings us to this mission. No one should have to face cancer alone, and it’s especially heartbreaking to think of children fighting such a difficult disease with so much less support and so much more vulnerability. We’re running in honor of Ann and in support of kids who are facing cancer battles of their own. We would be so grateful for any support from our family, friends, and coworkers as we raise funds for Cannonball Kids’ Cancer and help make a difference in the lives of these children and their families.
