Last year I did the Eugene half marathon and had such a great time. I can't wait to do it again this year!
This year, I'm participating in the Eugene half marathon "Run for a Reason" to support the nonprofit CASA.
CASA volunteers are appointed by a judge to advocate for children in the foster care system, making sure their voices are heard and that they don’t get lost in an overburdened child welfare system. Their mission is to be a powerful voice for children who have experienced abuse or neglect, helping ensure they are safe and able to find permanent, stable homes.
I've had many friends be CASA volunteers themselves and say it was an amazing experience. This is a great organization making a big difference in Oregon communities. You can read more about CASA here: https://www.casa-lane.org/
I'm asking friends and family to consider giving whatever they can to this cause. Even a small amount like $5 is greatly appreciated. Any amount can add up and make a big difference!
