Last year, after my mom underwent brain tumour surgery, I saw firsthand just how much healthcare workers carry. The doctors, nurses, support staff, and everyone around her did more than provide care; they helped carry my family through one of the hardest moments of our lives. Their kindness, compassion, and dedication left a huge mark on me. As I reflected on everything they had done for my mom, I started asking myself a simple question: who takes care of the people who spend their lives taking care of everyone else? That question is what led me here.

I’m fundraising for the FIGS Awesome Humans Foundation because its mission speaks directly to that question. This foundation exists to support healthcare professionals and students through real, tangible help: from rapid relief grants during times of hardship, to scholarships, to funding programs and recognizing people who are making a difference in healthcare communities. 

To help raise money and awareness, I’ll be taking on Ironman 70.3 Muskoka on July 5, 2026, while wearing full FIGS medical scrubs from start to finish. That means a 1.9 km swim, 90 km bike ride, and 21.1 km run; all in scrubs. This challenge is my way of symbolizing the “silent marathons” healthcare workers run every single day, often without enough recognition or support.

This fundraiser is deeply personal to me. It began with gratitude for the people who cared for my mom, and it has grown into a way to give back to the broader healthcare community.
