I’m proud to support Connected Lane County both as a fundraiser and in my role as the organization’s Technology Coordinator. Working behind the scenes, I’ve had the opportunity to witness the impact of this organization up close. I see how intentional community investment turns into real outcomes for young people: wages earned, skills built, confidence gained, and futures opened. I’ve also had the chance to support youth interns directly, which has reinforced just how meaningful paid opportunity and supportive environments can be.

Connected Lane County works with youth ages 14-24, connecting them to paid work experience, job training, mentoring, and essential resources. In the most recent program year, they served over 2,000 young people and paid out more than $620,000 in youth wages.

This work matters because the need is real. In Lane County, one in three youth experience poverty (among 8th-12th graders), and one in six experience a disability. Programs that offer paid experience, one-on-one support, and clear pathways forward aren’t just helpful, they can be life-changing.
