Hi, this is Shannon Brooks. To be honest, running this marathon (well, the half-marathon relay) has been on my “bucket list” for a few years now and I’m finally doing it! I’ve got two reasons for running. One, because I can! For most of my teen and young adult years I couldn’t run well because of intense pain, but God has healed me of that and this marathon is my victory dance! Second, it’s for a good cause! Working at the Dream Center, I’ve had the chance to personally meet and build friendships with some of the ladies the DC has rescued from human trafficking. God is healing them and giving them new lives. I’m honored to be running to help more of these precious people!
