Why am I Running for Renewal?

Albuquerque holds several thousand homeless adults and children.  I see a few of them every day on my commute.  Homelessness is a problem too complex for one person to solve, but as a community we could be the answer.  Steelbridge ministries is working to do that, not just through temporary food, shelter, and clothing, but through residential programs that rebuild lives through the love of Christ and welcome the homeless back into society.

Recently Steelbridge has had to shut down about half of their feeding programs due to lack of funding.  Their new women’s shelter was storm damaged this summer.  They receive no government grants and depend on us to help make rescue and renewal possible.  Can you help me support this ministry?

“…and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry
and satisfy the needs of the oppressed,
then your light will rise in the darkness,
and your night will become like the noonday.
The Lord will guide you always;
he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land
and will strengthen your frame.
You will be like a well-watered garden,
like a spring whose waters never fail.
Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins
and will raise up the age-old foundations;
you will be called Repairer of Broken Walls,
Restorer of Streets with Dwellings.”
