It’s almost time for the Easterseals Superhero Hustle — one of our favorite events every year! ❤️??‍♂️

Easterseals has been part of our family for a long time, and all three of our kids have their own story there.

Brayden first started speech therapy at Easterseals when he was just 2 years old. At the time, he was really difficult to understand. Now he’s 10, and if you know Brayden, you know he’s one of the most social kids you’ll ever meet. Give him a chance and he’ll become your best friend in about two seconds. ❤️

He continues to work on his communication and OT skills, and it’s been really fun watching him recognize his own progress as he gets older. He recently told me how much he thinks his handwriting has improved, and he was SO proud of himself. He’s also been stepping outside of his comfort zone and trying new sports this past year.

Annmarie’s Easterseals journey has included both PT and social work. For her, one of the biggest things Easterseals has helped with is confidence. ❤️ She’s grown so much in believing in herself, being willing to try things and recognizing what she’s capable of. Whether it’s at therapy, school, skating or somewhere completely new, it’s been really special watching that confidence grow with her.

And then there’s Camden. ?

Camden started at Easterseals when he was only 18 months old, so he has pretty much grown up there. Easterseals has been there through nearly every stage of his life.

He has spent countless hours in PT, OT and speech working on walking, strength, communication, everyday skills and independence. His journey hasn’t always been a straight line. There have been incredible accomplishments, medical challenges, setbacks and times when we’ve had to work our way forward again.

Through all of it, his therapists have continued to meet him exactly where he is. They celebrate the things that might seem small to someone else but are HUGE for Camden and for us. Many of the people there have known him for years. They know his personality, what makes him laugh, what motivates him and just how hard he works.

When your kids spend this much of their childhood walking through the same doors every week, Easterseals becomes so much more than a place they go for therapy. The people there become part of their team, their childhood and our family’s story.

That’s why the Superhero Hustle means so much to us. It’s a chance to give back to a place that has given our kids so much — and we have an absolute BLAST every year! ?‍♀️?‍♂️
