Walking for My Mom

Steps of strength and hope

This 5K walk is personal for me. It’s in support of my incredible mom, who has always been my rock, my source of strength, and my inspiration. She has faced so many challenges throughout her life, but nothing compares to the battle she is now fighting against lung cancer. This walk is one small way I can show her how proud I am of her courage and resilience as she fights this disease with everything she has. I want her to know that she is not alone in this journey—every step I take is for her, and for all those facing this devastating illness.

Throughout this battle, our family has been left with so many questions. Why is lung cancer the leading cause of cancer deaths? How does someone who has never smoked end up diagnosed with it? Why does one treatment seem to stop working, and where do we go from there? These are just a few of the countless questions we've asked ourselves, often without clear answers.

That’s why I’ve decided to participate in the Run, Walk, Breathe event. It's not just about raising awareness—it’s about supporting vital research, patient programs, and shedding light on this often-overlooked cancer.

Lung cancer is one of the most common cancers worldwide, but it’s also one of the least understood and least funded. The truth is, if you have lungs, you are at risk—whether you’ve smoked or not.

I am walking to support my mom, to raise awareness, and to fund the research that can provide answers to families like ours. Every dollar raised brings us one step closer to better treatments, early detection, and hopefully one day a cure.

Please join me in supporting this cause, whether through a donation, spreading the word, or simply keeping my mom and everyone affected by lung cancer in your thoughts. Together, we can make a difference in the fight against lung cancer.

Thank you for your love and support!
