It started with a pathologic fracture to the T-6 vertebrae with a marrow-replacing mass protruding into the spinal cord late September 2021. Multiple imaging tests later, it was determined that I had Stage 4B non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Last November (the 5th to be exact), my world as I knew it was turned upside down. Cancer ran in the family but it was breast and pancreas, not lung cancer. As a non-smoker, I was not expecting that...
I've made great strides with treatment and with the healed fracture, I am get back at the gym and walking Blossom - the two things I missed the most! How fitting that my one year cancer anniversary is the same day as the 2022 Run. Walk. BREATHE 5K. What better way to celebrate.
I'm hoping that you will take afew minutes and support me on this walk. My goal is modest - a dollar for each day I managed to kick cancer's butt. You are also welcome to join us on the walk. It's too early to tell if I'll complete the full 5K, but I'm sure going to try!
