About Shannon
Dr. Shannon Allen is the owner of MaineStay Skincare in Augusta. A head and neck surgery otolaryngologist with a passion for aesthetics, blending medical precision with artistic flair, she graduated with honors from the University of Michigan in 2002 before attending medical school at Wayne State University in Detroit, where her fascination with the human body as a beautiful machine began. After completing her surgical residency at Temple University in Philadelphia, Dr. Allen focused on head and neck surgery, practicing at MaineGeneral from 2013 until 2020, when she transitioned into the field of aesthetics.
When she's not working, Shannon is busy chasing after her 2-year-old, bringing the same care and sense of humor into motherhood that she applies to her practice. In her downtime, she enjoys painting in oils, a practice that naturally complements her aesthetic work by requiring the same patience and attention to detail, where thoughtful, gradual changes lead to balanced, lasting results.
