About Lisa
Lisa Newell of Augusta is a graduate of Cony High School pursuing a logistics leadership certification through Penn State University.
Lisa has worked for the US Department of Veterans Affairs for more than 40 years, moving up through various positions, to a regional position in the New England Healthcare Network as Chief Logistics Officer. She oversees 11 Veterans Affairs Medical Centers across New England.
She has served in several leadership roles, including as the first female president of Le Club Calumet in Augusta in 2018–19, as the Exalted Ruler at the Augusta Elks Lodge No. 964 in 2024–25, as chairperson of the Maine Children’s Cancer Program, and as the Vice Chair of the Board of Directors for the Augusta Boys and Girls Club. She also serves as the treasurer on the Board of Directors at Howell House in Augusta.
In 2023 Lisa was selected as Maine Mother of the Year, being the 62nd woman in Maine history to hold this honor. She is the current president of the Maine chapter of American Mothers.
Lisa volunteers for many community events. Whether raising money for the Maine Children’s Cancer Program, teaching teens cooking skills at the Augusta Teen Center, or playing Mrs. Claus at Christmas for fundraising events, Lisa believes in giving back to her community.
