Meet Glitch & Birch
Glitch came to us after surviving a house fire. She had severe burns on all four paw pads, ash-covered fur, and a persistent cough from smoke inhalation. Our medical team jumped into action with laser therapy, medicated foot baths, nebulization treatments, antibiotics, pain relief, and plenty of TLC. After a month of healing in our Leeu Naylor Medical Building, Glitch made a full recovery and was adopted into a loving home.
Birch, a 3-month-old puppy, was brought to the San Antonio Humane Society by a Good Samaritan along with his eight siblings, but unlike his playful littermates, Birch wasn't putting weight on his back leg. X-rays revealed an old, improperly healed fracture below his knee, causing him significant pain. After careful evaluation, the medical team determined that amputation was the best way to give Birch a pain-free, happy life. Now adopted and thriving, Birch enjoys playing outside, cuddling, and bird watching with his forever family.
