My Personal Fundraising Page
Hi everyone! My name is Mark Caster, and I am a senior this year at Lutheran High School. On Wednesday, October 3, 2018, my school, Lutheran High, is holding a Walk-a-Thon. This year's Walk-a-thon event is to raise funds to replace and add two additional water fountains with bottle filler, parking lot pot hole repair, and student financial aid.
Last year, we raised over $11,000 in our ongoing efforts to pay for the newly renovated track and field here at Lutheran High School. I spent my first two years at Lutheran playing on the rough dirt/grass mixture we used as a football field, and can tell you from experience, it was rough to say the least. Two years ago, my sophomore year, we were unable to host the Regional Championship football game, the soccer Sectional Championships, or ANY home track meets due to unsafe conditions and lack of seating. The following summer, we were finally able, as a school, to begin the building process of the new track and field. It was a close call, with the field only being finished a few days before our first scrimmage, but we did it.
Now, in my senior year at Lutheran, I have been blessed to play on this state of the art playing surface multiple times. The difference in playing quality is almost unbelievable. We were able to host the sectional championships in football and boys soccer last year, as well as the incredible semi-state game for football. In addition, Lutheran hosted track meets in the spring season for the first time in years.
Our track and field have greatly affected me as a football player, but its not just the athletes that have been affected by this installation. The field has brought the people here at Lutheran closer together, because we know that everyone at Lutheran and everyone else who donated made this happen. It brings out a sense of pride. Just two years ago, Lutheran celebrated their 40 year anniversary. Through that as students, as a faculty, and as a school, we were able to make a statement to the generations that came before us, and the generations that are yet to come. We are ready for Lutheran to take the next step. These efforts are clear proof. The financial burden attached to this field was no small amount, yet we conquered it.
This year is no different. We once again need all of you, the donors, help! Your donations this year will go to our efforts to replace and add two additional water fountains with bottle filler, parking lot pot hole repair, and student financial aid. While a fixed parking lot and a new water fountains to replace the old ones will be nice, the focus is on financial aid for students. We want to make sure that everyone has a chance to experience the special opportunities that Lutheran High School provides. Someone should NEVER have to be turned down because of they cannot afford tuition.
Help Lutheran High School finally "put in stone" the ideals we are trying to pass on to the future. Help Lutheran High School 'take the next step' in helping our community. Help Lutheran High School “walk-on” to the greatness that awaits it. I hope you can help me help my school by making an on line donation by clicking on the "Donate Now" button to the right or by a gift of cash or check (payable to Lutheran High School). Lutheran High School is classified as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and as a result, donations to the LHS Walk-a-Thon are tax deductible. Please prayerfully consider donating to help Lutheran High School. Help us take the next step, and be a example—now, and for the generations to come! God bless!
