On September 26th, the foundation will host an immersive artistic salon and benefit auction inside the historic studio of sculptor Adaline Kent.
The evening will include:
A curated meal by award-winning Chef Lionel Haeberle (Per Diem SF, Beat Bobby Flay)
A live auction of limited-edition and one-of-a-kind artworks, with select pieces from the Weapons of Light series
Performances curated by Shinji Eshima and featuring San Francisco Symphony musicians
Our event raises funds to support our orphanage in India and artist grants, allowing us to uplift creative voices while directly impacting lives in need.

Join us for a personal introduction with Francis Mill to this historic art studio built in 1940 by the John Galen Howard family, recognized as the first family of art and architecture in California. This was the sculpture studio for Robert Howard and his wife Adaline Kent. This studio was ground zero for some of the most intense creativity that defined this era of art making in San Francisco. Luminaries from the Beat Generation frequented the studio. Funk Art grew out of the improvisation in jazz music and Bay Area figurative painter David Park played the piano in his jazz band in this studio with fellow painter Elmer Bischoff on his trumpet and Abstract Expressionists frequented the studio including painter Mark Rothko. Wild artist soirees were held here with artists from the California School of Fine Arts (later the San Francisco Art Institute.)
For this evening, there will be a special reunion of artworks by Adaline Kent, Robert Howard, John Galen Howard, David Park and Elmer Bischoff.
Then join the salon for drinks and hors d'oeuvres curated by Chef Lionel Haeberle, musical performances curated by Shinji Eshima, and an auction to benefit the orphanage.
