This year, we’re walking for Lily—and for all the little hearts like hers.
Our team is walking with purpose as we celebrate 30 incredible years of The Children's Heart Foundation funding research that saves lives. Every 15 minutes in the United States, a baby is born with a congenital heart defect (CHD), making CHDs the most common birth defect in our country. For three decades, CHF has helped drive research behind treatments and surgical advances that have transformed survival rates and given countless children with CHD the chance to thrive.
For our family, this cause is deeply personal. Our daughter, Lily, was born with multiple complex congenital heart defects. Her little heart faced challenges from the very beginning, and while we wish her story could have been different, we are incredibly grateful for the doctors, researchers, and medical advances that gave Lily every opportunity to fight and gave us precious time with her.
Lily's life has changed ours forever. Now, we want her legacy to help other little hearts.
The Congenital Heart Walk helps make that possible. Our mission is to raise funds for The Children's Heart Foundation's quest to advance the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of CHDs by funding groundbreaking research that improves outcomes, reduces complications, and helps Heart Warriors live longer, healthier lives.
Every step we take is in memory of Lily and in hope for the babies who will come after her. We walk for the families who are just beginning their CHD journey, for the children growing up with CHD, and for the researchers working toward better treatments and brighter futures.
