For 44 years, Heartland Family Service has celebrated families and individuals who place a high priority on building and strengthening their bonds, while encouraging community involvement.
It is with a heavy heart that we are announcing our final Salute to Families. We’ve been privileged to have honored many individuals and families who have left their unmistakable mark on the community. That fills us with joy.
Help us shine the spotlight one last time.
2026 Honorees
Amy and Dwayne Brown
Leadership Family
Amy and Dwayne have demonstrated a deep commitment to people they love and the communities they call home. Through their leadership and generosity, and by caring for those nearest, they’ve made a meaningful and lasting difference.
Together, they have revitalized properties by seeing the potential to breathe new life into neighborhoods and improve conditions for the people in them, but most importantly, Amy and Dwayne are devoted family members who “show up” when times are challenging and they are needed most.
Dr. Terri L Crawford
Commitment to Community Service
Dr. Crawford has transformed her commitment to justice into meaningful action, advocating for equity, uplifting marginalized voices, and strengthening communities.
She’s elevated the conversations regarding race and the law, mass incarceration, and structural racism and co-produced “Divisible,” a documentary about the lasting economic impact of redlining on Black communities in Omaha.
Dr. Crawford leads with integrity and purpose. Her life exemplifies a powerful truth: lasting change happens when convictions become actions and service becomes a way of life.
Tiffany Eggett
Challenged and Successful
Following the unimaginable loss of her young son to suicide, in the darkest moments, Tiffany found a way to turn her heartbreak into hope and the shadows into light for others walking through devastating grief.
She founded the You Are Loved Project and for six years has provided scholarships to young people who have lost a parent to suicide. Through these educational awards, she reassures students that there are people who believe in the possibility of their future.
A brilliant example of resilience, she transformed grief into action and turned her loss into love that changes lives.
