6 Years Strong! Walking with Gratitude. Funding the Future of Ovarian Cancer Research. This year marks my 6th Sandy Sprint and my 5th year cancer-free. I walked my very first Sandy Sprint just after finishing treatment for ovarian cancer. Today, I continue to walk with deep gratitude for my own health and in honor of the friends we’ve lost. Since my diagnosis, I have sadly lost four friends to this devastating disease. Their memories are a constant reminder of why this mission matters so much. There is still no screening test for ovarian cancer, which is why research is so important. Every donation supports groundbreaking ovarian cancer research at UCLA, helping advance earlier detection, better treatments, and one day, a cure.
