Harlee (& Bri's) Saving Pets Challenge Page!

Hey y'all, I'm Harlee Quinn, the Real Housepet of the Johnson-Buck household.

I’m a rescue dog with a ruff past and a fabulous future. My story started on the streets of New Mexico, where my pregnant mama was picked up—dirty, scared, and very much over it. She gave birth to eight of us, and let’s just say… we didn’t exactly match. Rumor has it there were multiple baby daddies...

Lucky for us, rescue organizations stepped in and gave us a shot at a real life. That’s how I ended up here—with my humans, who I adore.. even if they have been a little distracted lately planning a big fancy wedding… I mean, hello? What about MY needs? Mom got her diamond ring… but where’s my diamond collar? A girl has needs. And don’t even get me started on the “no more dogs right now” rule. I’ve been campaigning for more brothers and sisters, but apparently one Real Housepet is “enough.” Ugh. Rude.  I guess I have my step-sis, Sadie, but she's like ancient; I need someone a little closer to my age who I can watch Love Island with and go on Hot Girl Walks with!

But listen, I can’t stay salty for long—I know how lucky I am. While I’m napping on memory foam and up to my perfect ears in toys and treats, so many pets are still out there dreaming of a soft bed, a full bowl, and someone to love them. So while Mom is planning flower arrangements, I’m planning something even more important—a call for donations to Animal Friends Alliance.

They're out here doing the work: rescuing, healing, and finding homes for pets like me and my mama. Your donation helps keep their lifesaving programs going strong—because every animal deserves a chance to be loved, spoiled, and slightly dramatic.

So go ahead. Donate in honor of a rescue diva today. I may not have a diamond collar (yet), but thanks to people like you, I do have a home. And that’s the real luxury.

P.S. I told Mom she could say a few words too—sorry in advance if she bores you. She's not as fabulous as me, but she tries.

XOXO,

Harlee

Happy August, Animal Friends Alliance Supporters!

My name is Bri, and I’m the Individual Giving Administrator at Animal Friends Alliance—and the lucky servant (oops, I mean mom) to the one and only Harlee Quinn. I joined the Alliance in April 2024 as the Development Assistant, and in March of this year, I was thrilled to be promoted to my current role!

I’m fortunate to oversee many of our incredible giving programs, including the Animal Advocate Club, our recurring donor club, and Legacy of Love, our planned giving program. I genuinely love getting to connect with our amazing supporters—you inspire me every single day.

As Harlee graciously mentioned (with a side of dramatic flair), I’ve also been busy planning my wedding! My fiancé and I are getting married on August 1st, 2026 in Larkspur, Colorado at the most stunning venue. And while Harlee may think she’s being neglected (she’s not), I’ll admit I’ve spent a few more evenings on the phone and glued to my laptop than she’d like. Every vendor I’ve spoken with now knows about my extremely vocal, attention-seeking pup who whines during calls and pops into every video chat—she is the moment.

If you were a supporter of my fundraising page last year, THANK YOU! Because of your generosity, I was able to raise over $16,000 for our lifesaving mission. One incredible $10,000 donation made a big impact, but the rest came from hundreds of meaningful contributions, phone calls, and emails—and I’m hoping to bring that same energy this year.

My 2025 goal is $10,000, which is $4,000 more than I raised without the large gift! Whether you can give $5 or $500, every single dollar counts—and thanks to a group of generous donors, your gift will be matched this month, making twice the impact!

And just for fun, I’m sweetening the deal: for every $500 donated to my page, I’ll donate a much-needed item to the Alliance. From dog treats and Churu to bleach, paper towels, and office supplies—I’ll go on a donation shopping spree at the end of the month, take a picture of the haul, and send out a special thank-you email so you can see exactly what your support helped provide.

Normally, I’m not much of a shopper—but this is the kind of spending I’ll gladly do.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for supporting me and for believing in the mission of Animal Friends Alliance. Together, we’re making a difference—and saving lives.

With so much gratitide,
Bri
