Hey there, I'm Suki!
I'm a spunky, silly, sweet, and very fluffy chow/husky mix who believes life is meant to be lived to the fullest - preferably with a spoonful of peanut butter in one paw and a tennis ball in the other.
Almost two years ago, I was living in an under-resourced shelter in South Texas, just waiting for someone to take a chance on me, when my future mom (aka my biggest fan and the Volunteer Program Manager at Animal Friends Alliance) met me during a work trip focused on animal welfare.
I was in rough shape, but I had so much love to give if someone was willing to look beyond that and see my potential.
I didn't really know how to "dog" yet. I had spent my puppyhood surviving on the streets of Texas, living off grasshoppers and scraps, with nowhere safe to call home.
Mom says she knew instantly that I was coming home with her. I say... she had excellent taste!!
When I arrived in Colorado, my humans quickly learned I wasn't just a little under the weather - I was battling four different illnesses and was extremely underweight, lethargic, and in pain.
Without the medical care and the second chance Animal Friends Alliance gave me, I probably wouldn't be here today. But thanks to the incredible team who refused to give up on me, I made a full recovery and became the happy, healthy, adventure-loving pup I am today.
My story started in a shelter... but it won't end anytime soon because I found my PAWfect Match. ❤️
