If you're on my page, you're undoubtedly aware that karate and Thousand Waves is a huge part of my life. I wouldn't be who I am today without it. Thousand Waves is also a Not for Profit organization, and runs largely on donations. We have a tuition, so what does everything go to? Donations support our Adapted Seido Karate program, so those with disabilities can also train, our violence prevention and self defense outreach programs around Chicago, and maybe most importantly, our scholarship fund. Thousand Waves has never turned away anyone who wanted to train just because they couldn't afford it. It's so important, because it makes karate something for everyone, as it should be. Without the scholarship program, we likely wouldn't have had some of our best teachers and partners in training. Spirit Challenge (along with our kids' fundraiser) is a majority of the funding for all these endeavours. We'd love to keep engaging the community, and can do it with your help. So please, whatever you can contribute will be hugely appreciated.
