The Astronaut Scholarship Foundation seeks to inspire, encourage, and aid Astronaut Scholars to embody the highly respected astronaut characteristics, such as intelligence, ambition, self-motivation, persistence, and a passion for science, exploration, and innovation.
The Scholars Give Back Campaign is a scholar-organized giving campaign to support the next generation of Astronaut Scholars.
Each Astronaut Scholar has their own unique story. To show their gratitude and share this opportunity with more students, the Astronaut Scholar Alumni created the Scholars Give Back Campaign in 2009.
Today, Astronaut Scholar Alumni contribute annually to support the newest class of Astronaut Scholars. Over $200,000 has been raised to-date which has been utilized to fund over 20 scholarships.
In addition to monetary gifts, Astronaut Scholars give back in multiple ways such as:
- Mentoring
- Volunteering at events
- Serving on committees
- Special projects
