This summer, the Geauga Family YMCA has already provided more than $10,000 in camp scholarships to help local children experience the joy, belonging, confidence, and friendships that camp creates.
As need in our community continues to grow, we made the decision to expand scholarship support this year so more children could attend camp regardless of financial circumstance. Now, we need our community’s help to keep that support sustainable.
Through our “Seats Around the Fire” Campaign, a Y-USA Campfire Across America Initiative, we are raising an additional $10,000 by July 31 to ensure more children have access to life-changing camp experiences.
At the center of our YMCA lobby, you’ll find a symbolic campfire installation representing something simple but powerful:
Every child deserves a place around the fire.
Throughout the summer, members, families, staff, and supporters can add personalized flames to the growing fire as a visible reminder that our community comes together to make camp possible for local kids.
We are also inviting supporters to share short camp memories and encouragement messages through our blue “story flames,” celebrating the impact camp has on confidence, friendships, belonging, and personal growth.
