It’s easy to put things off. To get distracted by work, schedules, kids, emails, etc, and in the hustle of everyday life tell ourselves we’ll do it tomorrow.
But today is a gift. Tomorrow is unknown. So send it.
That lesson has stayed with me since losing my brother Jamie, and it’s at the heart of why Send It exists.
So this SENDtember, I’m keeping my challenge simple: one micro send every day. Get outside. Move my body. Jump in the water. Ride a bike. Take a trail. Try something new. Say yes when it would be easier to say “maybe tomorrow.”
Nothing epic. No mileage goal. Just a small daily reminder to be here, now, and make the most of the day in front of me.
Over the past 12 years, it has been one of the greatest privileges of my life to share adventures with young adults facing cancer. I’ve witnessed first turns on skis, the joy of catching a first wave, big laughs around dinner tables, hard conversations on trails, and moving moments in beautiful places with some truly incredible people.
Again and again, I’ve watched people step outside their comfort zones, take a chance, and discover what’s possible, even in the midst of tremendous uncertainty.
I send it because of Jamie. I send it for all the people I’ve had the privilege of meeting through this work. And, whenever I’m lucky enough, I send it right alongside them.
This month, I hope you’ll join me. Make your own micro send. Get outside. Do the thing you’ve been putting off. And if you can, make a gift to help more young adults facing cancer have an adventure of their own.
Today is a gift. Let’s SEND IT.
