Run for a Reason with ShelterCare

ShelterCare is a Eugene/Springfield nonprofit that was founded in 1970 and serves over 800 individuals a year! Your support ensures ShelterCare can continue to support individuals in our community in a variety of ways!

• Permanent Supported Housing-ShelterCare partners with local landlords to support individuals in housing programs with longer-term case management, to ensure they continue to remain housed.
• Short-Term Housing Support- ShelterCare provides temporary and emergency housing for individuals experiencing homelessness.
• Medical Respite-ShelterCare operates a 19 bed medical respite facility, which provides temporary housing and case management for individuals who would be exiting the hospital and onto the streets.
• Counseling Services- ShelterCare operates its own out-patient behavioral health clinic, which provies individual and group therapy to teens and adults who are Medicaid eligible. ShelterCare therapists specialize in anxiety, depression, and helping people who have gone through traumatic life experiences. 
• Case Management- ShelterCare provides case management and peer support services to individuals who are experiencing housing instability. 

1. Click the "Register Now" button below the thermometer graphic. Fill out the registration form and select the distance you plan to run in the Eugene Marathon (5k, Half Marathon, or Full Marathon).

2. Create your fundraising page! Make sure to edit your profile and share your "why" you are running for ShelterCare!

3. Start fundraising! Instead of paying a registration fee, you are commiting to fundraising the amount listed below (at minimum). Once your goal has been met, you will receive a code to register for the race on the ShelterCare team! Don't worry about the race selling out, if you have registered with us- your spot has been held. 

Fundraising Minimums

$150- 5k Run

$350- Half Marathon

$500- Full Marathon

The funds you raise will support ShelterCare programs, which ensure our neighbors in Lane County have access to affordable housing and mental health support. The more people that join the ShelterCare team, the more perks the team will have, such as a private tent or private porta-potty!
