In my 20's-30's I was an active runner.  Loved the San Francisco races because you could count on a cool breeze.  One of my last was the S.F. marathon.  In my 40's I had a "freak" accident that caused a break and rupture in my back.  My running days were over and at times I wondered if my walking days were soon to be over too.  Luckily, the greatest "challenge" in my "new state" was that I could not sit for longer than a few minutes at a time.  This kept me up and moving despite the constant chronic pain.  My daughter, Elise, grew up believing and praying that I would run again.  Fast forward to my late 50's ... through a series of "God destined" events, prayer, determination and faith that "Miracles can Happen" ... I have now been running short distances a couple times a week.  Elise and I "dreamed" of running a 5K together ... but, nothing seemed to fit our abilities and schedule.  After exercising at my gym, P2P, I saw a brochure for this 5k run walk for freedom.  I knew it was the perfect fit.  My family and loved ones are rallying around me both in support and with their running shoes on.  Miracles CAN Happen!
