I was on the track with 20 seconds left in the jam, stuck behind a wall of players and I couldn't get through! My teammate Little Rascal pushed the Turquoise Terrors aside, leaving a hole. I swiftly skated through, earning the winning points of the bout!! I could see the headlines now: "Orange Crush Wins Again"!

Roller Derby let's me skate and compete at the same time, two of my favorite things. My  derby name is Wizard of K-Oz (get it? K-Oz = Chaos!). Along with the other 20 awesome skaters on my team, Orange Crush, I practice once a week and have a great time competing in bouts with the other teams in the Tootsy Rollers League of the Seattle Derby Brats.

I have always loved to roller skate. When I was 7 I met an older skater named Kiki Krusher at the skatepark. She told me about the beginning skater camp. I had to wait a whole year, but finally I was old enough to join and so excited when I made the team. I immediately fell in love with Roller Derby, the greatest sport ever. It makes me feel happy and strong. 

Your donation helps pay for track time for practices and bouts and fun events like Winter WonderSlam and the All Night Skate. It also pays for team jerseys and on site medics for our bouts. The whole league is run by parent volunteers! You could really help us continue this awesome program!!
