Hey everybody, ‘tis Vena! Welcome to my Skate*A*Thon fundraising page!
I’ve been with Seattle Derby Brats for 2 years now & I’ve learned so much! Last year I played for Orange Crush, which is on the Tootsy Rollers division and this year I moved up to Division 1 and now play for Poison Skid’les & the Inter Stellas travel team. We just got back from playing NWO up in Chilliwack, British Columbia last month and it was fantabulous! We’ll be competing in Portland, OR next!
SDB is a supportive and inclusive community and it’s basically like my second family. This annual fundraiser not only raises money for roller derby events like our Derby Prom, the Summer Camp-Out, & All Night Skate but it also helps provide derby scholarships, team jerseys, Children’s Hospital medics for our team bouts, & of course, rent towards practice space at our local community centers. The league is still looking for a permanent home after losing the Rat’s Nest last year so hopefully this fundraiser will help with that, too.
