After more than a decade supporting children in foster care through CASA Project Worcester County, I’ve apparently decided the logical next step is… throwing myself out of an airplane. As many of you know, I serve on the Board of Directors (currently Vice President) for CASA Project Worcester County. But long before that, I started as a CASA — a Court Appointed Special Advocate — working directly with children in foster care who needed someone consistent in their corner. Every child deserves safety, stability, love, and someone who shows up for them. Unfortunately, for many children who enter foster care, life becomes a revolving door of uncertainty: moving from home to home, school to school, adult to adult. Too often, they feel unheard, unseen, and disposable. CASA changes that. CASAs are trained volunteers who advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs don’t get lost in “the system.” Sometimes one consistent adult can change the trajectory of a child’s entire life. As an adoptee myself, this mission is deeply personal to me. I know how life-changing it is when a child is given safety, permanency, and people who truly care. So naturally, to raise money and awareness for this incredible organization, I have chosen to participate in a charity SKYDIVE. Yes. A skydive. Possible outcomes include: • Personal growth • Crying • Spiritual awakening • Peeing myself midair • Discovering my life insurance policy exclusions • Maybe enjoying the view? But if me launching myself into the atmosphere helps support vulnerable children, then it’s worth it. I would be so grateful if you’d consider donating — every dollar helps CASA continue advocating for children who need support, stability, and someone fighting for their future.
