For the last few years I have been involved in supporting the Smith Opera House, (Smith Center for the Arts) because I love that this institution and structure has survived for over 130 years! I have been lucky to live in places which have old theaters which provide a nucleus for other cool businesses to rally around. I'll add that the fact that this venue has survived for this long, especially throught the '70s, proves that others have seen the critical role that this institution has served this community. It has also provided us the best place in the region to dance tango!
To keep moving ahead, it needs many more supporters. Please join the day of giving or volunteer (like I did). Friday, April 24th is a 24 hour day with matching funds and such so it is a good opportunity to multiply (or add) to your contribution.
