This isn’t just a fundraiser. It’s a leap of faith. From thousands of feet up in the sky. A symbol of hope. And a bold statement for second chances.
I’m jumping out of a perfectly good plane in full support of the heart and mission at Light of Life Rescue Mission because I believe in the power of redemption and the resilience of the human spirit. My passion lies in advocacy for individuals re-entering society after incarceration or treatment, for those battling mental health challenges, addiction, and homelessness.
These are not just causes. They're real lives, real stories, and real people who need a lifeline. Just like I have. More than once.
I’ve seen how stabilized housing, access to mental health, food, and addiction recovery can transform a person’s path. I’ve witnessed the impact of faith, mentorship, and life skills training in rebuilding shattered identities and helping people rediscover their worth and purpose.
Everyone deserves a second chance. Transformational recovery and stabilization is a journey. Not a moment. Nor does it look the same for everyone. And it's definitely not linear.
Jumping out of a plane, thousands of feet in the air, may sound extreme. Who am I kidding? IT IS! But it’s a powerful metaphor. It mirrors the fear, courage, and trust it takes for every one of us to step into a new life, leaving behind darkness and choosing light. Light of Life Rescue Mission embodies this spirit daily, and I’m proud to stand (and fly) alongside them.
This is more than just jumping out of an airplane. It’s about lifting others up and passing along a lifeline, just like (I pray) my parachut will!
