Help Me Make a Difference!
Unite for Bleeding Disorders Walk & Health Fair 2026
Hi, my name is Alexander Diaz, and I'm 9 years old!
I'm a kid who loves playing soccer, playing video games, reading Dog Man and adventure books, drawing, writing, and spending time with my brother, cousins, and friends. Some of my favorite moments are family movie nights, playing games together, and having my extended family come visit. I love being around the people who make me laugh and feel loved.
But there's something else about me that I want you to know. I was diagnosed with Severe Hemophilia A when I was just 9 months old. Hemophilia is a bleeding disorder that means my blood doesn't clot the way it should. Because of this, I have to be extra careful when I get hurt. Some injuries can be very serious and even life-threatening, so it's important that the people around me understand my condition and know how to help keep me safe.
Having hemophilia is part of my life, but it doesn't define who I am. I'm brave, energetic, and always ready for an adventure. Sometimes I'm a little shy when I first meet people, but once I feel comfortable, my silly sense of humor comes out! I try to be kind, include others, and stand up for what I believe in.
On November 14, 2026, I'll be participating in the Unite for Bleeding Disorders Walk & Health Fair. I'm excited to help raise awareness and support other kids and families who live with bleeding disorders, just like me.
I'm raising money to support research for better treatments and cures, help my local hemophilia chapter, and support opportunities like The Painted Turtle camp, where kids with medical conditions can experience the fun, friendships, and adventures that every kid deserves.
I'm asking my family, friends, and everyone who wants to help to join me in making a difference. Every donation, no matter the amount, can help support this important cause. If you're unable to donate, sharing my fundraiser and helping spread awareness would mean a lot to me, too.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for supporting kids like me. Together, we can help make the future brighter for everyone living with a bleeding disorder!
With gratitude,
Alexander Diaz, Age 9
