Hello all!  As you know, I have volunteered with Sojourner House for the past several years.  This year, more than ever, Sojourner House needs your support.  Due to COVID-19, we have had to cancel our annual Sojo Mojoe Breakfast, one of our two major annual events, and we cannot fundraise during our annual Spring Campaign as we typically do.  Additionally, the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted victims of abuse in many ways:

- Victims living in the community with their abusers have less access to help and assistance;
- Calls to 911 and our hotline have increased since this crisis started;
- Victims living in our programs and who have escaped abusive situations are already feeling the
financial impacts due to unemployment.

In response, Sojourner House has expanded services to meet these needs:

- Crisis hotline services, which are now available 24 hours a day, seven days a week;
- Text services, which allow victims to privately and confidentially text with an advocate to get
support and assistance in lieu of picking up the phone;
- Telehealth clinical and support groups sessions;
- Rental assistance for victims who are unable to pay their rent. During
the 1st week of April, we received over 50 requests for rental assistance, and the requests
continue to come in;
- Access to basic necessities such as paper goods, household goods, medical supplies, food, and
cleaning supplies;
- Gift cards so victims can purchase groceries and supplies as needed.

These expanded services require additional operational funds to support.
