I volunteer for Sojourner House because of the AMAZING work this organization does to support domestic violence and sexual assault survivors throughout Rhode Island. COVID-19 has had devasting impacts on domestic violence victims. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, 

• Victims living in the community with their abusers have less access to help and assistance;
• Calls to 911 and the Sojourner house hotline have increased since this crisis started;
• Victims living in Sojourner programs and who have escaped abusive situations are already feeling the financial impacts due to unemployment.

In response to this increased need, Sojourner House has increased its services. It is an amazing organization that provides so much to our community. I'm working to raise $500 for Sojourner House.
