Green River Cleanup - Our 20th YEAR!
A proud partner of the Franklin County Rivers Cleanup, including the Gill-Montague Supergroup.
You have 3 ways to join our Cleanup:
- Register as a CLEANUP VOLUNTEER. Choose the Green River Cleanup Group (this group) from the list of groups.
- Register as a TRASH SORTING VOLUNTEER to help sort recylables during the event. Choose the Green River Super Sorters.
- Register as a GROUP LEADER to coordinate the efforts of other volunteers at a particular Greenfield area site. You will be prompted to create a group name and indicate your chosen cleanup site during registration. Start by choosing one of the sites in the Greenfield area from our Adopt-a-Site map.
Cleanup Date: Saturday, 9/23
Cleanup Start/End Time: 9am - 5pm
Meet up location: Green River Rec Area, Nash's Mill Road

Things to bring: Refillable water bottles, long pants and sturdy shoes, Optional: rakes, shovels, brooms,
If Possible: Bring and apply tick repellent before going out, especially if you have heard reports that the tick level was presently high

8am-9am Enjoy coffee & donuts before you head out
9am-Noon Cleanup!
Noon-3 pm Live music with Boys from the Landfill and beer tasting with Four Phantoms Brewery.
12:15 Lunch
All day
- Make art from found trash with the Art Garden.
- Make a reusable shopping bag with the Friends of Reusable Bags (a project of Greening Greenfield and the BagShare Project). Upcycle feed bags into grocery bags!
- Join the Green River Recycling Group on site throughout the day, and especially from 3-5pm for sorting and prepping all that plastic/glass/metal for its proper reuse!
