It’s been a little over 3 months since our world was turned upside down. On April 13th we found out I was pregnant and a few weeks after that we found out we were pregnant with twins. In July I started experiencing complications and also found out that we were having a boy and a girl. The complications took over as Baby girl’s sac ruptured causing amniotic fluid to leak in my uterus. We tried seeing specialist to see if repairing the sac was an option but unfortunately the day of my appointment  I became gravely ill and my doctors advised me to go to the hospital immediately. My doctor called on July 11th at 5:45am to tell me that I could no longer move forward with the pregnancy or I would most likely become septic, need a full hysterectomy and/or lose my life. Given that we already have our first miracle baby Gaby, we made the hard decision to save my life and focus on Her. Later that day I was induced and gave birth to Michael Orestes and Victoria Isabelle, they were 16 weeks old, so survival  was not an option despite praying for a miracle. Victoria did not survive the labor and Michael was born alive but shortly thereafter took his last breath in loving arms. 
I want to share my story as painful as it is to let other families out there know that they are not alone. Despite the horror and pain of that day I am thankful I was able to hold my babies, we were able to honor them through a private service and will continue to love them all the days of our lives. No one understands the stabbing, agonizing pain that takes over your heart when something like this happens. I will say that during this horrible time the love that my husband, family and friends showed me and the support we continue to get has been so comforting. I’m not sure where we would be without you all.
