Dillon was born with a rare genetic syndrome called Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS). PWS is complex, and individuals are faced with many possible health complications. The complications vary by individual, but all struggle daily with medical, physical, developmental, behavioral and academic challenges. The daily challenges that Dillon faces, are not chosen, nor are the situations that are posed to our family. With schools like Spectrum 360, we are given hope in Dillon’s behavioral, social, and academic successes.
Every run I do, short or long, I reflect on the challenges Dillon and his siblings face, and how hard they work to get through those challenges. That makes me push myself to my limit during my runs, no matter how fatigued I get! I am thrilled for this NYC Half experience!
