Hi neighbors, I’m Gabi Brown — mom of three (15, 14, and 6!), longtime resident, and big believer in the power of play. When my teenagers were younger, we would walk around Bird Island Park and for many years didn’t even realize there was a playground tucked in the back. With a nine-year age gap between my kids, I’ve visited this playground for many years and have watched it slowly decay.

That’s why I’m leading a community fundraiser to bring much-needed improvements to the Bird Island Park playground — a space that should inspire imagination, connection, and joy for all our families.

We’re excited to participate in SJC Parks Foundation: Residents for Recreation to support this resident-led project.
