Hey hey! Thank you so much for supporting Sportable. As you may know, Sportable is an adaptive sports club in Richmond that provides access to competitive and recreational sports across Virginia to athletes with physical disabilities and visual impairments.
I've volunteered with this incredible organization for two years now with the wheelchair basketball, tennis, and road racing programs. The community our volunteers, athletes, coaches, staff, parents, interns, and so on create at each practice, game, tournament, or expo is unparalleled -- we lift each other up while challenging one another to push harder than yesterday.
Please consider a donation to Sportable and, if you're in Richmond, come on by our Tailgate at Triple Crossing - Fulton on Thursday, September 22 from 5:30 - 8:30 .There will be live music, food, a cash bar, and Sportable swag for sale. It is highly recommended that you wear orange and/or blue to this event - there will be a prize for best dressed!
A donation of $5 or more prior to September 22, or $10 at the door, is your ticket to the Tailgate. If you are unable to attend please consider making a donation toward this worthwhile cause to help us achieve our fundraising goal of $110,000. As a non-profit, we rely on donors to help us achieve this mission. Your generous support allows us to continue to provide the best in adaptive sports to over 400 athletes, of all ages and abilities, each year.
A $5 donation is the same cost as a cup of coffee or a happy hour drink. But even a $5 donation can help Sportable provide:
- Access to individuals with disabilities who would not otherwise be able to play sports
- Opportunity for a high school senior with spina bifida to play wheelchair basketball in college
- Adventure to a person with a spinal cord injury kayak down the James River
