Sportable has been a meaningful part of my life for more than a decade. I first connected with the organization in 2015 while working with patients at VCU Health, bringing them to adaptive sports programs and seeing firsthand the impact Sportable can have on individuals and families.
In 2020, when Sportable’s traditional tailgates became home- and neighborhood-based, my friends and I started a block party in the Fan District. What began as a way to stay connected during a challenging time has become an annual tradition that has raised over $10,000 and introduced so many people in our community to Sportable’s mission.
Now, as a member of the Sportable team, I have the incredible opportunity to see that mission from a whole new perspective—and I believe in it more than ever. Sportable creates connection, confidence, opportunity, and community through adaptive sports, and I’ve seen the powerful impact it has on individuals with physical disabilities and on Richmond as a whole.
I’m proud to support an organization that means so much to me, and I hope you’ll join me in helping Sportable continue to change lives through the power of sport.
