My family was always a Scouting family. I remember cheering on my brothers' cars during the Pinewood Derby, singing songs around campfires on family days, and practicing setting up camp before big campouts. When I participated in Venturing as a teenager, Scouting became a place where I could belong, grow, fail, and succeed.
As an adult, I see how Scouting continues to bring families together, give Scouts once in a lifetime experiences, and allow them a safe place to learn and lead.
