I am participating in Steps2Cure NF to raise awareness and support for those who, like my twin sister, are affected by neurofibromatosis (NF), a genetic disorder that causes tumors to form on nerves throughout the body. The money raised will support the mission of NF Northeast, funding patient support programs, advocacy efforts, and cutting edge research, and will provide hope and help to individuals and families impacted by NF.
This year, my mom accidentally scheduled our birthday party for the exact date and time of the NF walk, so we're doing something a little fun and different - most of Team Yale will be at the walk like usual, but our family and friends will be rolling for NF during our birthday party! We are inviting party guests to consider donating to our Roll for NF in lieu of gifts (don't worry, we will still get a ton of presents). Even better - party guests are welcome to join Team Yale and help us fundraise for this charity that's important to my family. (The party will still be all about our birthday, but we'll also know that we are roller skating for a great cause at the same time. And we'll take a team photo!)
