The Morning Center's mission is deeply personal to me because we are working to redeem a healthcare system that often overlooks those who need it the most. Healthcare is something that originated with people who believed it was their duty--grounded in the Christian tradition--to care for the poor and the sick. Jesus's ministry was so often focused on healing others, and the Church has long joined Him in this effort. But in the US, we often lose sight of healthcare as a place where we can serve.

And when you shift from healthcare as a ministry to healthcare as a system or program, people begin to fall through the cracks. 

One thing I have learned during my time at the Morning Center is how little access pregnant women have to the medical care they need. In a nation that is warring over the right to abortion access, these women have no front-page headlines. They have no insurance, no medical resources, and they are showing up to the emergency room to give birth, having never seen a doctor once during their pregnancy. 

This is a huge gap in care because lack of prenatal care is strongly associated with pregnancy complications and morbidities.

The Morning Center is a direct solution to this problem by providing free prenatal and postpartum care to those who need it most. Would you consider supporting this mission and expanding access to healthcare to those who need it most?

WHY WE RUN

Each year, thousands of pregnant women find themselves without access to the medical care they need. Nearly 1 in 4 mothers in the U.S. miss early prenatal care, and a significant percentage of pregnancy-related deaths are linked to a lack of timely, preventive care.

We run to help close that gap.

We run for moms in medically underserved communities— women too often left to navigate pregnancy without the support, resources, and medical care they deserve.

Every step brings awareness to this reality and moves us one step closer to closing that gap.

Because God is a Redeemer— the One who brings beauty from ashes (Isaiah 61:3)— every step becomes part of a greater story of redemption by turning lack into care, fear into support, and uncertainty into hope.

Every dollar raised helps expand access to free, life-affirming medical care, and healthy beginnings for moms and babies.
